I love Mitsubishi-Ichigoukan museum.
I often come here coz I live nearby, but not only for that, it holds very attractive exhibition every time.
I often come here coz I live nearby, but not only for that, it holds very attractive exhibition every time.
This museum is very old, but newly renovated. So that it's quaint and outstanding in surrounding skyscrapers. It also has a very nice café in the same building, so you can enjoy the exhibition, then take a rest, and go shopping! This area is located by Tokyo station, although relatively quiet on week days. You can kill time before your train leaves.
Anyway, it's impossible for girls to ignore this super girly nostalgic poster!
The thing I'm quite surprised to see this exhibition is almost all the paintings looked quite similar to me...
Titled Vigee Le Brun, other works by lots of different female painters exactly looked like hers.
Expression, model's posturing, proportion, drawing techniques and choice of colors.
I guess this is the way of drawing portraits in Rococo age.
I heard painting portraits at that time were not thought to be high status compared to other types of paintings, then women could get the job rather easily. Could it be said that portrait painting relied too much on techniques and copy of the popular style of the era?
In any case, I know girls love this Marie Antoinette (by Soffia Coppola )style! So do me!!

ソフィア・コッポラは多くの女性のマリー・アントワネットイメージからベルばらを吹き飛ばし、１８世紀フランスを豪華絢爛金満趣味から小洒落た少女趣味的方向性に転換、定着させたことでしょう。幼いわたしには池田理代子せんせいスタイルも相当激しいインパクトがありましたが、マリー・アントワネットのイメージは当時のワインレッド×ゴールドからベビーピンク×ホワイト×シルバーにすっかり変換されてしまいました。
映像の効果ってやっぱり凄い。実際ベルサイユに行ったこともあるのに、そして完全にベルばら寄りの感想を持った筈なのに、その印象さえもかき消されて曖昧に。
個人的にはどちらも好きで、ルイ14世が出てくる映画『王は踊る』もお薦め。
