Although I thought this would be my first time to see the works of Bettina Rheims,
I recognized I've seen many of them, and never identified them as her works.
Cycling through Ginza area on the way to daily shopping, I dropped in at CHANEL GINZA, after my eyes were caught by the sign of this exhibition.
Most of the women in the photos are icon, famous for both their external beauty and their character.
Bettina shoot them rather with reality and grotesque than beautifully.
どんな女性もわりとエグく撮るというか、悪く言えば生活感・・・いやアバズレ感か？
美しい女性を撮るときにありがちな男性的（または少女漫画的）ファンタジーが感じられなくて、やっぱりそこは女性フォトグラファー らしいというか。
もちろん被写体が美女、それも揺るがぬ個性を持った、だからこそ成り立つというか。
リアリティを持たせたことで被写体の生命力が増して見えるのか？
